Information

George  was the  illegitimate son of William George Pearson and Emily Elizabeth Ottley.William Pearson  was born 14th July 1859 in Norton, Suffolk He married Susanna Baylham on 12th October 1878 at St Mary's Church Woolpit. His Father was William Pearson and is Mother was Martha Pearson nee  Game.

Although his name does not appear on the birth certificate, George does enter it on the wedding certificate of his first marriage to Beatrice Rowe. She died, aged 31 years, on  20th December 1920, at The Green, Norton of Partus endometriosis. Her father was William Robert Rowe who at the time of her marriage was a licensed victualler's manager.

When his mother married Joseph  Bloomfield he and his sister lived with them and they became part of their family. During the war he was based in Plumstead and drove traction engines. After the war he worked for John George at Wetherden, a village a few miles from Norton, threshing with a steam engine. He left there about 1930  to work for Alec K. Cooper at Sweffling doing the same job. He retired from there in 1954 (at 65 years old).   He joined the LDV (later called the Home Guard) when it was formed at the outbreak of WW2 and served until it was disbanded at the end of the war.
